Cathy Vann has more than 25 years experience in distressed institutional asset analysis, servicing, management, and disposition in both the public and private sectors.
In the 1990s, she raised more than $1.4 billion in capital for structured transaction purchases, and obtained special servicer ratings from all four rating agencies. Cathy assumed the role of President of Ontra, Inc. in 1997 and oversaw the due diligence, asset management and disposition of approximately $15 billion in institutional assets—including both sub-performing and non-performing loans and all types of challenged real estate assets.
Cathy joined Asset Revitalization Solutions as partner and CEO in 2009 to pursue private sector distressed loan and REO portfolios and distressed asset management contracts. Cathy received two degrees from Louisiana State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and has held a Certified Property Manager designation since 1998.
While serving as CFO and Head of Strategy for bank holding company and capital markets group Shay Investment Services, Inc., Jay McEntire recognized vast opportunity within the distressed debt market and assembled the leadership team that would become Asset Revitalization Solutions.
Jay has applied his executive management, investment banking, and growth company expertise to execute over $1.7 billion in M&A and capital markets transactions. Former roles include: CEO of Cogency Software, an accounting and risk management software for hedge funds and institutional investors; CEO of ProTrader Group, a direct market access trading software and broker/dealer which was sold to Instinet Corp. for $150 million; Head Corporate Development and Investor Relations for Parker & Parsley Petroleum Company, which merged with Mesa Petroleum to become Pioneer Natural Resources; and board member of publicly traded Prime Medical Services.
Jay received his BSBA from University of Arkansas, and his AMP:ISM at Harvard Business School.
Jeffrey Price joined ARS in 2009 as Chief Investment Officer and principal, leveraging a 30-year career in commercial real estate finance and development, in addition to creating and managing commercial real estate businesses and strategic partnerships.
He was a founding executive of AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp., where for 15 years he managed a broad spectrum of domestic and international commercial real estate businesses and strategic investments totaling over $5 billion. In the early 1990s, Jeffrey structured a strategic partnership with other future founders of Asset Revitalization Solutions, purchasing $1 billion in distressed CRE loans and ORE from the RTC.
As an entrepreneur for the past five years, he has undertaken multi-family developments in three states, entitling over 1,400 units in three separate projects and completed construction of 437 units and a marina.
Richard Tanner, former Deputy Commissioner at the Texas General Land Office, has over 30 years of high-power real estate experience, including the management of 18 million state-owned acres and $8 billion in real estate assets. While working for the state, he also chaired the Investment Advisory Committee for the real estate of the Texas Permanent School Fund, growing the fund’s real estate investments to $1.3 billion.
Richard also directed operations for Cathy Vann’s special servicing team in the 1990s, managing $3.5 billion in assets for institutional investors and consulted large mixed-use land developers, municipalities, and counties in Texas in real estate. He reprised his operational leadership at Asset Revitalization Solutions in 2009.
Rodger Shay, Jr. serves as President of Shay Financial Services, Inc. Asset Revitalization Solutions is an affiliate of Shay Financial, which was among the founding investors in the company. Rodger has more than 20 years experience in the fixed-income market. From 1981 to 1985, Rodger Shay, Jr. traded US Treasury securities for Merrill Lynch at its trading desks in New York and Tokyo.
In addition, he served as the trading desk liaison to the monetary authorities and supranational agencies in Asia. From 1985 to 1988, he was the senior trader and manager of the CMO and ABS trading desk for Merrill Lynch.
John James joined Asset Revitalization Solutions’ special servicing team in 2012 to provide asset management and financial analysis. His 30-year expertise includes oversight and management functions on non-performing commercial mortgage loans, negotiating with borrowers, developing strategies, and monitoring performance.
Before joining Asset Revitalization Solutions, John was an asset manager with Crown NorthCorp, an underwriter for The Siegel Group, Inc., a financial analyst with Kennedy-Wilson Austin, Inc., and a financial manager for Heartland Financial Management Services. He also served as deputy liquidator for the Texas Department of Insurance. John holds a BBA in finance from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas.
Joe Tirone, a real estate broker and investor based in New York, joined Asset Revitalization Solutions in 2012 to develop and implement recovery strategies, negotiate payoffs and restructures, as well as to initiate and monitor foreclosures.
Joe was a Wall Street executive before joining Asset Revitalization Solutions, dealing extensively in mortgage finance, trading, and investment banking. He owns and operates Jostin Capital, LTD, a real estate advising and consulting service, and Community Home Brokerage, LLC, a licensed real estate brokerage company.
Joe also has taught economics at St. John’s University in New York City. He earned a BBA in accounting from New York’s Pace University and an MBA in finance from St. John’s University.
Dwayne Chambless joined Asset Revitalization Solutions in 2012 to assist with the company’s acquisitions and management of distressed loans. Over his 25 year career in distressed loan management, Dwayne has worked with Ontra, Inc., Collins Financial Services, and as a contract consultant to the FDIC.
His vast experience ranges from loan workouts and underwriting commercial debt restructures to managing teams of asset managers and collectors. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in engineering.
George Jalil joined Asset Revitalization Solutions in 2012 to assist the company with due diligence and loan analysis. He is also involved in the analysis of loan structures, resolution strategies and underlying commercial real estate valuation. He recently completed a six-month internship with Shay Financial as a Jr. Financial Analyst and is now a part of the team here at ARS.
George graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in international business in 2011.
Annette Riojas Bell joined Asset Revitalization Solutions in 2012 with nearly 15 years experience in mortgage and financial industries to assist the company in all aspects of loan servicing management.
She previously worked in account management with Datran Media and Dell, Inc., in addition to having industry experience with The CIT Group, Olympus Servicing and Temple-Inland. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in international business.
